Most placemats are a colour and a texture. Ours start as artwork — a botanical study, a star chart, a jazz score, a mandala — printed edge to edge at high resolution so the detail survives at arm's length.
The result sits somewhere between tableware and a small print. On a bare wooden table, a set of four reads as a composition. On a dressed table, a single piece under a plate does the work a runner used to do, without the ironing.
Every design is exclusive to SubliLux. You will not find the same artwork on a supermarket shelf, and we do not licence it to anyone else. That is the difference between a decorative placemat and a designer placemat: one is a pattern, the other is a piece someone made on purpose.

An artistic placemat is no use if it curls after a month. Ours are built like a small panel, not a sheet.
Yes. The food-grade PETG surface is water-repellent — wipe it with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid. Do not put them in the dishwasher or soak them: the HDF core is water-resistant, not waterproof.
Hard. Each piece is a rigid HDF panel, so it stays flat on the table and takes the weight of a full plate without bending. If you are looking for something you can roll up, this is not it.

Yes. Pieces are sold singly or in sets, and you can mix different designs within the same set. Many customers order six different artworks from one collection so every guest gets their own.
Yes. The printed surface is a PETG laminate certified for food contact, so a slice of bread or a piece of fruit resting directly on the mat is not a problem.
